Brisbane Buyers Agent First Home Buyer Insights – What’s happening in Morayfield – $48m shopping centre proposed to service huge residential growth area

A development application has been lodged for a $48 million shopping centre at Morayfield, north of Brisbane.

To be known as Morayfield Marketplace, the three-storey shopping centre at 192 Oakey Flat Road, on the corner of Clark Road, will have a Coles, Liquorland, medical centre, retail and commercial tenancies, as well as a service station on the site.

The first stage of the shopping centre will have around 7000sq m to 8000sq m, with the possibility of extending to 1100sq m of gross floor area in the future.

The shopping centre was originally planned as a smaller neighbourhood centre, but subsequent land acquisitions have seen the proposal extended.

If given the go ahead, the shopping centre is expected to start construction in the first quarter of next year and open in June 2025

If approved the shopping centre will service a fast-growing catchment area, as it is surrounded with plenty of residential growth.
