The former Sisters of Mercy convent in Wooloowin will likely be transformed into a childcare centre, if a development application is given the go ahead.
The plan is to repurpose the heritage-listed two-storey convent at 60 Bridge Street while also adding a single-storey building extension at the back.
The childcare centre would cater to 110 children, with five outdoor play areas, seven activity rooms and 22 car spaces. It would operate from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
The development site is part of a larger 3.688ha site, which is earmarked for a residential townhouse development.
The childcare centre site is next to the Holy Cross Catholic Parish Church and Holy Cross Catholic Primary School.
