Refurbishment works to the Mollison Street mall entry of the Soda Factory at West End will go ahead following council approval.
The plans for the shopping centre at Boundary Street, West End includes the demolition, upgrade, and extension of centre activities within the established district centre.
It will see a new awning installed at the mall entry, new glazed shopfronts and extended tenancies to improve street activation and the replacement of the pedestrian ramp with an accessibility lift and reconfigured entry. There will also be new landscaping and glazed automatic doors added to improve climate control within the mall, as well as levelling of the mall footway to remove the existing slope.
The two stage works will see first the refurbishment of the western side of the Mollison Street mall, allowing continued public access and tenant operation, with stage 2 to include refurbishment of the eastern side of the mall.
