Bardon could soon have another childcare centre, with a development application submitted for a 1,853sq m site at 56 – 60 Chiswick Road.
The property is currently home to two houses, which would need to be mostly demolished to make way for the two-storey childcare centre with a gross floor area of 821sq m, with the pre-1947 façade retained in keeping with the character of the area.
If approved the centre will cater for up to 106 children, and will include three large outdoor play areas and a car park for 22 car spaces.
There have been quite a few objections raised to the new centre, and a decision on the DA is pending, but if it goes ahead it would further amenity for residents, fulfilling demand for childcare in the area.
