A mixed-use development is planned for a 9.78ha site at Underwood, south of Brisbane, in the Logan City Council area.
The property, at 1677 Beenleigh Road, near the Underwood Marketplace Shopping Centre, was previously occupied by Australia Post for 25 years. Since the organisation’s relocation elsewhere, the vacant site is now expected to be redeveloped after its recent sale, with the purchaser, Melbourne-based developer VMG, lodging a development application for a mixed-use development.
The development proposal includes medium-density residential (townhouses and apartments), including retirement/aged care, as well as commercial, medical and retail space, as well as a village green.
If it goes ahead, this development would turn a previously industrial site into a mixed-use site, providing new homes for residents and more amenity for those living in the development as well as in surrounding areas.
