Toombul Shopping Centre on Brisbane’s northside could be redeveloped into a mixed-use precinct with residential and retail.
This week it came to light that council had confirmed to owner Mirvac what was permissible on the site at 1015 Sandgate Road in Nundah, which was closed in February 2022 after a major flood.
“Now that we have council support confirming what is permissible on the site, we are commencing discussions with a targeted group of potential partners, including capital and other delivery partners, to support the future redevelopment,” the company said.
The Council said it would be supportive of a mixed-used development featuring housing and retail, in line with the neighbourhood plan, as well as open space to address flooding concerns.
