The former Visy industrial site at South Brisbane is set to be transformed into a major mixed-use precinct following the selection of Lendlease this week as preferred Master Development Partner by the Queensland Government.
Located on Montague Road between South Bank and West End, just 1.3 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, the project will bring together more than 4,000 homes alongside extensive public open space along a seven-hectare-plus waterfront site.
The precinct will include new riverfront promenades and boardwalks, plazas and amphitheatre-style spaces, parkland and shared pedestrian and cycling routes to create a highly connected riverside neighbourhood, according to Lendlease.
Works are expected to start in April next year, with the first homes and key public spaces targeted for delivery ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This project will contribute to the revitalisation of another major site in South Brisbane, providing benefits for residents and visitors.
