A major upgrade of the Ballymore precinct in Brisbane’s Herston will take place following an announcement by the Queensland Government, Rugby Australia and the Queensland Rugby Union.
The project at 91 Clyde Road will involve the demolition of the obsolete Eastern Stand. It will be replaced by the state-of-the-art Teams in Gold Facility for Rugby Australia’s Olympic Sevens and women’s programs, which will relocate from NSW. The facility will also provide a year-round base for the Wallaroos women’s program and will serve as a Queensland base for the Wallabies when the team is in the state.
The Teams In Gold Facility will feature an integrated 2400-seat grandstand, with a fourth floodlit training field and floodlights for Ballymore’s No.1 field also included.
Work on the project is expected to start later this year.
The latest works form part of the ongoing transformation of Ballymore, following the approval of the broader Ballymore Masterplan in 2022.
