As part of a new look for South Bank ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane, the Wheel of Brisbane is expected to also get a facelift.
A proposal has been submitted to realign and enhance the operational layout surrounding the wheel, which was opened in 2008, including relocation of ticketing facilities, and landscaping and public realm enhancements.
The future plans for South Bank are part of the 30-year Future South Bank Master Plan, which was endorsed last year, and include upgrades to public spaces and infrastructure.
The changes are designed for long-lasting community benefit, not just for the 2032 Olympics.
