Deception Bay could soon have some new community amenity if a recently lodged development application gets the go ahead.
The proposal is for a new community facility, park and markets to occupy the 12,256sq m site at 7 Joseph Crescent and 13-19 Beach Road, replacing a former research facility used by the State Government’s Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries. The land was purchased by Council in 2014.
If it gets the go ahead this project would be a drawcard for residents and those looking to buy in the area, particularly first homebuyers and families. New infrastructure and amenity that improves an area usually draws in more people, and higher demand can lead to increased property prices, as long as supply is not too plentiful.
