A new shopping centre will come to life in Upper Mount Gravatt after development approval was granted.

The retail centre will be housed on a 7,337sq m site at 9 Tryon Street, not too far from Westfield Garden City, and called ‘Tryon Plaza Shopping Centre’.

It will involve the extension and modification of two existing buildings on Tryon Street and construction of three kiosks (comprising three small shops fronting the busy Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road). The existing gross floor area will increase from 1,218sq m to 2,091sq m.

The shopping centre will feature a 555sq m supermarket, retail shop space of 1,156sq m, with kiosks of 83sq m, 270sq m of office space and 110 car parks. The maximum building height will be two storeys.

Greater amenity, particularly in highly populated areas and close to transport nodes, is always a growth driver and this will be the case for this development in Upper Mount Gravatt.
