A Nature-based Adventure Parkland is under construction in Larapinta, and is due to open this year.

It will feature a lakeside boardwalk, bushwalking trails, birdwatching and picnic facilities, and an exciting nature-based playground incorporating water-play for children. Vehicle access will be from Paradise Road in Larapinta.

The project is Stage One of Warril Parkland, part of Brisbane City Council’s Oxley Creek Transformation, with future stages to focus on the three lakes that form part of Oxley Creek, around 400m northwest of the first stage. Future stages are expected to include a visitor and/or community centre, an event and activity lawn and non-motorised watercraft launching facilities.

Greater amenity always makes an area a more attractive place to live, and in particular this project will make Larapinta and surrounding suburbs more attractive to families. Larapinta is a growth area close to major roads, including the Logan Motorway, and benefits from access to Browns Plains, which has greater amenity including the Grand Plaza shopping centre, but would require more infrastructure to really see growth in values.
